This was such a fun project! While I was working on this DIY, my entire family was sitting around the table and chatting and slowly this turned into a family project. I hope this DIY gingerbread house village turns into a fun project for your family too!
Check out a cute video reel of the entire gingerbread village on my Instagram profile @buildingahoneycomb
There are so many spaces you can set up this gingerbread village in, under your Christmas tree, near your crib or even right under your TV on the entertainment unit.
Here’s what you’ll need:
-Old cardboard box (you could even just request your local store to give you one)
-Cutter (sharp one)
-White paint pen ( I used uni ball, you could try Camlin white paint marker)
Here’s how to do it:
-Draw out the houses using a pencil and a ruler on the cardboard boxes. These are the measurements I used, you could get creative and make any size you want. I used multiple sizes.
– Use a sharp cutter to cut along the size you want to give you two front panel, two side panels and two roof pieces for each house.
-Roughly cut out doors and windows using the cutter
-Once you have all your pieces, draw out the different designs using the white pen. This was so fun for me.
-Glue your house together using a glue gun and let it dry.
-To assemble your gingerbread village use something that represents snow like this in case I used some shredded gift packing paper. You could even use bottle brush Christmas tree. Dress it up with your different gingerbread houses and some battery operated you’re ready to go.
